Pepper's resident axe-man showed his chops yet again as the culinary cockney's five-spice pork proved a food favourite. Pepper's munchie- making number-cruncher once again proved that his hot licks were not confined to his tasty guitar noodling.
Team Pepper spectacularly failed to win a podium place at the first ever Pepper Creative team event, despite complaints to karting organisers that the electronic scoreboard had malfunctioned causing race results to be reversed.
Thus Team 8 came first and Team 1 came eighth, and with Pepper’s deserved wooden spoon failing to materialise the Pepper HQ trophy cabinet was left wanting.
With performances impaired by weight disadvantage, unusual limb length and no apparent skill at this particular discipline, it was agreed that although this first Team Pepper event had been fun, it may well have been the last. Watch this space...
New beginnings warrant a new perspective, and as the deadline loomed for the very first Pepper Creative ad the search for a fresh approach began.

Held in the famous main hall of the Natural History Museum in London, the prestigious national event rewards companies for their innovation and excellence in animal welfare. Celebrity guests and representatives from high street and independent retailers enjoyed a gala dinner preceding the awards, which were presented amongst the museum's world famous dinosaur displays.
The RSPCA approached Pepper Creative to produce the big screen graphics acting as the main backdrop to the award presentations. As ever the deadline was tight, but all ran smoothly on the night. Industry leaders from the worlds of cosmetics, fashion and food such as The Body Shop, M&S and ASDA, were recognised for their achievements in animal welfare alongside smaller independent companies, with the Co-operative receiving a lifetime achievement award.
Jane Aslett, who co-ordinated the event for the RSPCA said "I just wanted to say a big thank you for the presentation. The evening went very well without a hitch and the presentation ran smoothly and looked really effective and very professional. I really appreciate that you were able to deal with the technical aspects and also produce it so quickly - and to my exacting specification!"

Pepper Creative produced a stylish full screen PDF presentation to showcase their range of their luxury super-yacht designs at the prestigious international event. The presentation was delivered on a high quality polished steel USB memory stick, laser-engraved with the logos of the two companies. Used in meetings with yacht brokers and potential clients interested in commissioning individually designed super-yachts, the presentation needed to reflect the quality of the luxury yacht design market, and also clearly present the company history and ethos of both companies in a format that would be retained, and hopefully revisited, after the show came to an end.
The stylish gifts were so well received they will be used again at the upcoming Fort Lauderdale Boat Show, supported by stylish new exhibition graphics.
Already one of the largest bike dealerships in the south-west, Fowlers are keen to spread their brand of Weise motorcycle clothing across Europe and beyond. Pepper were pleased to be involved with the launch of their new 2009 range, and as immovable print deadlines loomed managed to produce the majority of the publication even before new products had been photographed or named. A 16 page mini-brochure ensured a few more late nights for the folks at Pepper involved in Fowlers' push for world domination, but thankfully both parties feel that the results were well worth the effort.
The brochures have just been delivered fresh from the press and we think theyíre every bit as good-looking as the new product range.

Following the lead of most of the established national newspapers, and heeding the views of 87% of Islanders who found the broadsheet severely restricted elbow room, the County Press launched its new tabloid size on 3rd October. This seismic shift in the presentation of the Islandís most popular newspaper needed to be promoted in a direct and accessible way to Island readers. Pepper Creative was chosen to promote the launch through a comprehensive campaign that included press, magazine and bus advertising, point-of-sale, banners and vehicle livery.
Recently launched, the 4th generation site showcases around 300 footwear and clothing styles from all the leading manufacturers. Pepper created a full e-commerce catalogue with CMS functionality which allows IDML to easily update information and add new product ranges.

The brief asked for Pepper to "capture the mood of the Island" and we think we've done just that with a site that uses a chilled-out palette, natural textures taken directly from the hotel's decor, and specially commissioned photography of the hotel and its picturesque location. The website features all the information you need to know about the new hotel and spa, and CMS functionality allows hotel staff to easily update details of events and special offers.
The Lakeside Park Hotel's new image has translated successfully onto menus, room cards, signage and advertising, and is soon to be used in hotel and spa brochures.

We’re pleased to report that clients we've enjoyed creative relationships with in the past are positive about the formation of Pepper Creative and look forward to working with us on new creative projects.
Mike Pearson, formerly Marriott Design Creative Head and now fulfilling a similar role at Pepper as well as being part of the new management team said: “The end of Marriott Design was difficult for us all, especially as some of us had built up strong working relationships with many clients over the years - but the six of us are looking to the future now, to satisfy the clients we already have relationships with and offering an improved service and much more competitive prices to every customer, old and new.”
Six of the former Marriott Design team took the decision to start a new business - there’s Kirsty, who looks after the clients and generally runs the show; Mike, Simon and Pete who supply the creative spark; Martin, who builds and programmes our websites; and Jim, who looks after finances and on occasion raises bacon sandwich-making into an art-form. All of the folks at Pepper have weathered the storm of the previous few months and are determined that Pepper Creative fulfills its potential in the Isle of Wight design scene and far beyond.
Pepper Creative took the decision to take over the lease at Mill Court in Newport, so our telephone number remains 01983 529039 our email address is now info@peppercreative.co.uk
Our newly launched website will be regularly updated so we hope you continue to visit the site for fresh samples of work and news from the Pepper Mill.
